About Us
Mei Ling Ng and Jason Althouse are a mother and son team working together.
Mei Ling is the Broker-In-Charge at Marina Hawaii Vacations and has overseen the Real Estate Sales & Marketing Division since 2013. She reviews all listings and purchase contracts for accuracy and compliance, ensures the appropriate sales addenda/forms are included, and oversees management and rental agreements. Mei Ling also ensures compliance with HAR/HBR/MLS rules and regulations, and develops advertising and marketing strategies to increase brokerage and rental business for the MHV office. She provides real estate updates to over 200 investors/owners and renters/guests who are interested in selling or purchasing properties on Oahu.
Mei Ling began her real estate career at Coldwell Banker McCormack Real Estate Company after graduating from the University of Hawaii with a degree in Communications. While at the Leeward office, she became the Top Producer, Top Lister, and Top Salesperson within two years. She earned her Broker’s license after three years in the business. That same year, Mei Ling obtained the prestigious Certified Residential Specialist designation, which is held by only a small percentage of real estate agents nationwide.
Mei Ling is fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese. Over the years, her language skills, combined with her expertise in working with individuals from diverse cultures, have been a valuable asset to her clients. Mei Ling is sincere, ambitious, friendly, and well-spoken.
The qualities that shape Mei Ling’s life include her love of family, concern for others, dignity, and integrity. She enjoys working with international clients from England, Hong Kong, Macau, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the mainland U.S., and Hawaii.
Her clients appreciate her extensive market knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and negotiation skills, which help them achieve successful closings. In addition, Mei Ling owns and operates a translation and interpretation business. She has over 20 years of translation experience in legal, medical, governmental, and social settings. Mei Ling was a Hawaii Court Registered interpreter for over 20 years.
Jason Althouse is a Real Estate Agent and investor. He graduated from the University of Portland with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a side major in Computer Science. He obtained his real estate license after graduating from college.
Here are a few words from Jason: "Growing up in Hawaii was a joy. Although my college years were spent on the mainland, the love for my beautiful home state brought me back to Oahu as soon as my studies were complete, and I’ve been here ever since. With my parents’ encouragement and emphasis on real estate ownership, I bought my first condo, an investment property, when I was 25 years old at the beginning of my Real Estate career. Because I grew up in Kapolei and feel comfortable and enjoy the community, at the first opportunity that is where I purchased a home for myself where I currently continue to live with my young family. We find Kapolei to be a growing, thriving area with good shopping, safe parks and also close to beaches.
I am fascinated by the real estate process and enjoy working as a Realtor since I am detail oriented and able to put to good use my math strengths. My real estate services are defined by my expertise, empathy and innovation. I have worked both on my own or side by side with my mom, assisting and completing multiple successful closings.
